Well, this is it! I am finally releasing the second chapter of WhiteBlade after months of work! You can download it on this page.
A lot changed since the first chapter, here's the most significant changes:
- Added a Mini-Map. You can enable or disable it using the "w" or "PageDn" button by default.
- The combat system changed quite a lot, I decided to change it in order to make things clearer.
- Other small details like the puzzle for the first dungeon was changed, when receiving a new quest, a message will usually pop up to tell you about it.
- You can now talk to your party members around Palestra.
Of course, the second chapter also adds its share of new content like:
- 1 new main quest.
- A new companion.
- 3 Sidequests.
- Aeyan's romance.
- 8 new CGs (7 scenes)
- New regions, etc.
Now that the second chapter is out, this also means that I will start working on the third one. I do plan to take a little break like I did after the first chapter. While I'm taking this break, I'll be drawing a new character CG. Most likely for the new Fire Emblem Warriors game I'll be getting next week. So far I'm planning to draw male Corrin with another character. (Maybe Rowan the new guy from the game, we'll see!)
Also, next week, I will try to release the video walkthrough for the first chapter and the week after I might release the walkthrough for the second chapter but we'll see ;p. I'm planning an update for next week too, but don't expect something too big right after the release ;). I will mostly share information about the upcoming (probably biggest) chapter 3.

Delete...Not a fucking clue how to do the ice sliding puzzle with the rock and 2 switches in the temple to open the door for the 5th lantern. Is that bugged?
ReplyDeleteShouldn't be some people have already completed Aeyan's romance which is past that point. If you're doing the puzzle I think you're doing, the snowball is only usefull at the end once you activated both switches.
DeleteI think the switches are bugged for me, nothing happens when I step on the left one, and the right one seems to make the left one appear pressed down, but when I move away from it, it doesn't stay activated. So I keep pushing the boulder on either of the switches (mostly the right one since it seems to want to be held down by an object) but the boulder doesn't do anything either. And I keep being forced to fall down the holes on the cracking ice floor at the side of the room. Sooo I have no idea what's supposed to happen there lol. I can give a few more shots but I'll probably need an answer or figuring out whether my game's bugged or not. :/ Btw activating field skills while sliding across the ice makes you resist the one-way sliding and you can slide in any direction while channeling a field spell. Was this intended or a bug?
DeleteOh also there's 2 glitches in the game, the shop where the girl compares you to her boyfriend has a wall to the left of the counter where you can climb up the edges of the building, and the same bug occurs in the scientist's lab on both sides of the door in the middle of the lobby area. Aside from those (and what I'm assuming is the switch puzzle lol...) I can't recall other bugs so far.
I mean this is what I'm talking about... https://imgur.com/a/U181z Absolutely no idea what I'm missing here. The left switch is pressed by stepping on the right switch, which then stays unpressed. Pushing the boulder on it does nothing. I see nowhere else the boulder might be placed. :|
DeleteOOh that puzzle, sorry I was thinking about the other one with the snowball and the 2 switches. Normally, the snowball goes on the switch to the left and you stand on the switch to the right. Then the door just above should open.
DeleteDidn't know that casting a field skill while on the ice made you stop, I'll have to take a look at that but I'm not sure its fixable XD. Also thanks for reporting the bugs, I'll take a look at them for monday's updated version :).
DeleteWOOOOW the puzzle worked now. Earlier when I was doing it, nothing would keep the left switch pressed down, even when I placed the boulder on it. When I stepped on the right switch, only then would the left one stay pressed down. Now I avoided the right switch and focused on placing the boulder on the left one first. NOW it worked, and then I went for the right switch. It looks like this puzzle can be broken pretty easily if you don't solve it in the EXACT way it was intended, lol... I kinda hate it. XD But good to know it's not unbeatable, since you can reset it each time you go back upstairs.
DeleteAnd yeah no problem, those don't seem game breaking or anything, but I guess they're aesthetically troublesome. :P

DeleteI came back to check some things on the ice island and talked to the yellow-haired village elder again. Talking to him triggered the same scene that does when you first talk to him, so that would be a bug. Doesn't break anything, just repeats the whole scene again.

ReplyDeleteThe entrance to this room is actually on the floor below, you have to fall at the right place using the cracked ice to pass the blocks and reach the door.

Complete the "A new kind of research" from the chapter 1 then after the second chapter you should get the second part of this quest which should unlock the lab.
DeleteIf you complete the first part of "A new kind of research" after the second chapter, go rest in Clef's bed in Palestra to make the second quest pop up.
The lab is unlocked in the second part and can be found in Oside in a small cubic stone house near the entrance. The professor should be waiting in front of it the first time you go in while working on the quest ;p.

ReplyDeleteBut I have some problem with the Aeyan's romance. I can't achieve enough points... I seem to complete all conversations and have given two gifts. Am I still missing something?
To achieve more points here what you can do:
Delete- Use Aeyan's skills during a fight
- Give him more gifts by either finding more in chests scattered around (I think you're missing like 3 gift chests if you already gave him 2 gifts). You can also buy more gifts in a shop near Hykora's entrance.

DeleteYeah romances are designed to be something that you do along the main story since you get points by fighting alongside your team but since there's not much content beyond chapter 2 I decided to add the gift option ;p.

ReplyDeleteI am however a little stuck and was hoping for a hint. I am in the middle of Chapter 2 and am trying to earn the favor of the 2 Exkit elders. I managed to help one of the elders, but I am having trouble finding the other town since all roads seem to require the ability to move boulders or walk across water!
Any hints for what I should do next? ^^;
One of the elder is in the Aurora forest, you can go there by heading to the left when coming out of Minami village.
DeleteThe other is in the Snowden plains, this is to your right when coming out of Minami.
There's no Elder at the mountain so there's no point in going there for now ;p.
If you want more pointers please specify which Elder you already did ;).

DeleteThere shouldn't be that many boulders yet though. I can think of 2 ;p. Snowballs can be moved already though since they're lighter ;).
DeleteThere's 1 in the cave with Slime and 1 in the underground caves at Holyen fields (which annoyed me how I couldn't get through that area lol), and I think there's some other place with them, but not sure. Good to know I haven't missed anything there and it's just an upcoming feature. :P
DeleteI'm having trouble lighting the fourth brazier. I assume the puzzle with the switch and pentacle are related to it, but I can't figure it out.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps it's the one in the dark with the ledges that can be fallen off. I found the brazier in the bottom left corner but it doesn't seem to affect the braziers in the center.

DeleteOh I see now, the brazier that keep shutting down, its a bug but it won't prevent you from going forward. What you have to do is light the last brazier you're missing and to do that, you need to open the door you didn't figure out how to ;p.
DeleteTo open the door, go to the room with the 5 brazier and head to the south, there you'll find a door which you can open if you have to key. By going through that door, you have to reach the end of the hallway and push snowball down the hole. Once that's done, go back to the door you can't open and push the snowball on the switch ;).
If you haven't found the key to open the door, its in the labyrinth with all the ice crystals.
