Minami Village:
This village is the first one you will arrive to when going to the Exkit's island and one of the three villages you will find on Snowden Island. This is where Hiro lives along with one of the three Elders. Each village has its own Elder and you will need to meet them all ;).
Snowden Forest:
For the last feature I'm about to show, I need people's opinion on it since it will affect everyone who played the first chapter already.
The minimap (plugin made by TheUnproPro):
At first, I had planned to release the chapters one after another without having people to replay the previous chapters. However, if I want to implement the minimap, an entirely new save might be required to play the game. A minimap like this comes with a lot of benefits, it shows the exits of a map (they will be marked in red, I think the picture is too small to see them though, I can make the markers bigger too if needed), making it easier to know where to go and not get lost but also helps out in dungeons where things can be confusing. I also might be able to display important events on the minimap.
So I'm asking players, would they like to see the minimap implemented at the cost of starting over? This will more than likely be the only time I ask this since I don't think I will add such a feature again in later chapters.
good job! quality of your maps is what i clearly remember from the first beta and i'm looking forward new areas.
ReplyDeleteas for the minimap, i would like to give it a try first to see how useful it is, and i don't mind starting the adventure over since it was such a nice experience ;)
(i still think of these releases more like sneak peeks on the final game and i will replay the game from the beginning every time you release a new chapter anyway)
Thank you very much! You can expect to see new maps next week too and so far, most people I talked to don't mind starting over for the mini map ;).
DeleteCould you integrate the mini map feature into an item that displays the map of the area, and shows where you are?
ReplyDeleteEven if I did this, the plugin would be need which does not solve the fact that you need to restart a game. However, the map can be easily toggled on or off instantly at any moment by pressing "w"
DeleteYea, one thing I really felt missing on the first demo is a map to show where I am.
ReplyDeleteWith some areas having similar rooms, knowing at which point I am from the doors helps a lot.
yep, this is one of the main reasons I want to add it ;). Also when you're in a new town, it helps to know which door you can enter and which ones you can't ;).
